I originally wrote this post during the summer but let’s be honest, it really is applicable to any time of the year or when you need a quick check-in on your business vision. 🙂
Picture this, summer is in full swing and we are midway through the year or more, the kiddos are out of school and you can smell and feel the warmer weather in the air and the BBQ’s lighting up, that means it’s time to also check in on your business vision.
Ah, don’t you just love the summertime? It’s one of my favorite times of the year, probably one of the biggest reason I named my daughter after this season, lol 🙂 It’s a perfect time here in the Northern hemisphere to enjoy the beautiful beauty all around us, take those summer vacations and spend extra time with the kiddos.
But, for many its a stressful time, because, although all of the above and/or whatever it is that you like to do in the summer months is all fine dandy as entrepreneurs, we need to keep the money flowing, the clients flowing and biz flowing, I am sure that is part of your business vision, no?
A lot of times I see entrepreneurs lose a lot of momentum when we hit the summer but the truth is it doesn’t have to be that way.
1 – Do a quick check-in with your business vision
The first thing you want to do is a check-in with your business vision, the one you hopefully set out at the beginning of the year, we are halfway through the year so check in and see if you are on track.

If you don’t have a business vision for what you would like to create this year now is the perfect time to get clear on what that looks like for you, there is still plenty of time left in the year to accomplish your goals.
I highly suggest that you do what I myself do and what I suggest my clients do and that is to approach your business vision first from the standpoint of your life vision. Get really clear on what it is you want your life to look like, how much money it is going to cost for you to live that life, what you want your day to be like.
All of these little choices and the vision that you have for your life vision will help to inform your business vision. Meaning, what type of business model you want to create, how you want to market your business, what products and/or services you are going to sell, how often and when you will work. It is all connected and all goes together.
I know that it can be so easy to get caught up in I just wanna make money and want my business to work for me, but I can tell you from experience personally from shutting down a multi 6 figure business that was so far out of alignment of the lifestyle I wanted and from helping many over the years to overcome this same obstacle doing this piece first of the vision you want for your life is imperative to create that business vision.
Oh, and as a side benefit, you won’t have to dismantle a broken business model that burns you out, throw the baby out with the bathwater and start all over again like I did, countless times because you will have a clear vision to follow and know where it is you want to go.
So I invite you to sit down with a pen and paper and check in with your heart, what do you really desire to create in your life and your business.
Sometimes that can be a challenge, I know it used to be for me too until I really learned out to lean in and listen to what my gut was telling me it wanted. And as an added benefit when you work with your gut instead of against it, it makes it way easier to manifest what you want, because well, it doesn’t feel like you are drudging crap up a hill if you know what I mean. lol 🙂

2 – Create a rough plan of where you want to go + how you’ll get there!
You can’t exactly get to where you want to go on a wing a prayer, yeah sure, maybe sometimes it works, and I am all for allowing the Universe to deliver so magic but having a plan to follow and knowing where you are going and what you are focusing on day in and day out sure does help you to create your business vision, you know what I mean?
You want to have some strategy behind the plan that you are making.
So, if you haven’t already come up with a plan so that you can focus on the things that will bring that vision to fruition for you.
This will help you to get out of the overwhelm, help you stay focused on your goals in mind and keep the momentum going throughout the summer months + throughout the year!

3 – Break it down into smaller, achievable goals
Once you are clear on what your business vision is, and you have a rough idea with strategy behind it as to where it is you want to go with your plan now you want to break that down into smaller goals, and then into tasks that you should focus on in order to bring it into your reality.
