As many of you know just over 3 years ago I took a huge leap of faith and uprooting my life with my two kids (Summer, who just turned one at the time, and Kyle, who was 4) and my husband (John) and we moved across the country from Long Island, NY to Dallas, TX. We were in a very toxic environment and turned out our lives were in danger and I was actually scared for my life, which was exactly what was holding me back in my business to getting to the next level. Long story short, we relocated several thousand miles and started over from scratch, John had no job, we knew nobody, we had no place to live, no health insurance and only a few hundred dollars in the bank, oh and did I mention, I had no list and one client who was paying me $1500/month, so pretty much took a huge leap of faith.
Within 30 days of relocating, we had found a place to live, John got a job(and lost a job, a story for another day), I got my ass visible and I had landed my first coaching client and my first 5 figure month. Within a few months after that, I had generated 6+ figures in sales, within months, I realized I had built a biz that went against everything that I stood for, and what was important to me, and I walked away from the money.
Fast forward to now, and as I look back on the last year of business, and for the first time ever, I can say, there was not one thing that I did in my business in 2015 that money was a motivating factor in, I worked with rockstar clients that I love, and I created a business that I love. Not to mention, I increased my biz income by 71.4% from last and work 10-20 hours a week while my kiddos are in school, I dream I had since I started by biz back in 2006 before I was even pregnant with Kyle.
And now, it’s confession time, although I created some pretty awesome success, and I knew I was doing this throughout the year, and as I looked back I was like shit Kim, you actually did it, and I realized, I really did not push myself, I was pretty comfortable most of the year, sure there were times where I had to summon my courage and take leaps of faith but I was pretty damn comfortable, it’s my new normal, the struggle has subsided. And while, it’s nice to be comfy in your clothes, in your body, in your message, in your truth, for me, it usually means I am playing way too small.
I don’t know about you but I have some pretty damn big dreams and desires, and you know what, I know deep down inside that I can have it all, and live the life I truly desire and right now. I am not living up to that potential, so I am calling myself out and I am declaring to you some of those lofty goals. I am going to increase my business to $486k this year, I am going to continue to work when the kids are in school, work/life balance is super important to me, and I am not willing to give that up, I am going to help 2000+ people, I am going to create a tribe of other badass entrepreneurs who are ready to take on the world with their message and truth, make an impact and a whole lotta money in the process, and I am relocating back to Long Island, NY.
And you know what, this scares the shit out of me, not because I don’t think I can do it, I know I can do it, I can do anything that I set my heart to do and follow through with, I am a master manifester, and the business of doing business is easy for me. But even though I know this, deep down inside, I still feel this fluttering in my stomach, I still hear this little voice in the back of my head that says, who do you think you are, you can’t have that, you can’t do that, it can’t be that easy, you see, it doesn’t matter how much success you have created for yourself, how many times you have proven to yourself that you can stand at the gates of hell and still end up in heaven, that voice, that fear, that worry, that doubt, it never, ever goes away.
I used to think, once I made it that voice would go away, the fear would go away, the doubt, the worry, but the truth is, it never does, you gotta feel the fear and do it anyway. In fact, sharing this with you scares the shit out of me, what are they going to think, what if I don’t reach my goals, what if…. you name it, and you know what, I am not going to let that stop me, and you shouldn’t either.
